Is there anything me or my hubby can do for me to not tear during labor? We're not looking for out little girl to be very big, but i'd still like some tips...the only thing i've heard is about some kind of perinneal massage?? Tell me more about that, and others.

Having been recommended this by my midife and then some, I've been attempting it. But it's difficult! ( Cut in case of TMI )

I'm only 27ish weeks, so I have a ways to go. I'm planning a hospital birth, hopefully without drugs, but we'll see how it goes. I'm not scared of labor, really, but the idea of tearing freaks me out. Is it just something that going to happen? I mean, I realize something very large is passing through something not that large. My EDD was January 11th and babe had been low ["real low"] for about a month but making no true progress downward so my dr & I decided that if he didn't make his appearance by 40w 4d(Thursday, Jan 14th) that I felt confident in inducing.

1. I know RRL Tea is supposed to tone the uterus to make labor easier. That's cool, that's great. When can I start that business? I'm all about being prepared now and things sucking less later! : D

2. Is Red Raspberry Tea the same thing?
